Dandelion Benefits and uses

by Shonna Alva
(West Jordan, Utah)

If you have picked up a package of Spring Mix greens for a salad and read the label, you would have noted included in the baby greens is Dandelion. This is my favorite mix, and more expensive than the others. Dandelion is also a natural diuretic. It does not deplete the potassium in your system while working it's magic like harsh prescription alternatives. The bloom of the dandelion is said to be a natural laxative that is sure fire. I have not yet attempted this use. I do not spray my yard, and I use my dandelions in my salads. Best to pick them small, but edible at any time.
